Up early today before it became too warm, we set off on the short walk through a tree lined hillside from the Chalets to the top of Conical Hill. It was lovely and cool 14 or 15 degrees when we left. When we arrived at the summit the views were very rewarding. In the distance a lumberjack was busy felling trees. We enjoyed spending a sunny warm morning at the thermal pools and met two very interesting couples, one Dutch (who like us were traveling so we shared stories of NZ South Island ); the other from Hawkes Bay on the North island who told us of his wine business which he sold to a big producer because they ...

... and one couple from Canberra and another from Canada. The parks we have stayed in have all been 5 star and can't be faulted. They are all so clean providing us with well equipped kitchens, laundries and dining rooms. you don't really need a van with a shower and toilet. In fact we haven't used our shower at all but the toilet has come in handy. We have showered in the park showers in case you were wondering about our cleanliness habits! ...

NZ had been a wonderful experience and we had pretty much covered most of the country we wanted to see (apart from Christchurch which would be last and we would aim to get there on the 11th). We weren't sure what to do with our last few days so we headed for Malvern i-SITE. We were debating whether to head north of Christchurch to Kaikora. After much deliberating we opted against it. The main attraction ...
