... I poor Jake it must have been a quite trip. We are staying just across the road from Hagley Park and the Botanic Gardens. Christchurch is a beautiful city I commented on the way in that there are trees everywhere and its the greenest city I've ever seen. I found out later that apparently Christchurch is known as 'The City of Gardens' and has a big flower show on each year. We walked through the Park to 'Quake City' for dinner it was a beautiful walk ...
... Springs. We made it to the Hanmer River Holiday Park about 5 Km's outside the springs just after 7pm! We parked up, plugged in and relaxed. The kitchen facilities were pretty good so we cooked up some dinner (it was freezing cold though in the kitchen and dining area so we ate pretty quickly). Another lovely day. Out for an early morning walk before the rest of the family got up. Up so early, that I was out before sunrise! (at about 8am at the moment, so not too hard to do), Nice to see the sun touching the tops of the Kaikoura ranges.
