... after at work and again they have let us explore the site free of charge! Another massive saving and again nice to meet the team! There is so much to learn and do here. They have a 4D cinema, some little blue penguins, an Antarctic storm experience plus a Hagglund ride. Plus different accounts from people that have been exploring there. We walked back to our hotel and decided to watch a movie that our hotel rents for free. We decided to go with the NZ theme and watched Whale Rider before heading to bed.

After enjoying the adrenalin of racing around in the speed boats marion had decided she wanted more white knuckle activities so we decided to go for some jet boating! We booked in for the afternoon and decided to head off into the forest to go for a walk and get some much needed shade from ...

... and returned outside Jane had disappeared. She soon came walking around a corner and we took a walk around a few buildings and read up about the town on the various information boards. Waitua Town was at the top of the West Coast's richest gold mine. Prospectors discovered gold in 1905 and sold their claim to P.N. Kingswell for £2,000. Kingswell then proved the reef and sold the site to the Consolidated Goldfield Ltd for £30,000. By 1908 the first mineshaft had ...
