Many of the Japanese cities we visited had mascots, but this city's mascot was the best of all - a white cat wearing a Samurai helmet and red cape. No sword in sight though, so I am guess that this is a pacifist Samurai cat. (check out video).

On the second day of our trip in Chubu Region, we traveled in Fukui Prefecture. There are not many tourist attractions in the prefecture, but Eiheiji Temple is said to be a must-see. First, we visited Ichijyodani Valley to see Asakura Clan Ruins. It's a comparatively new tourist attraction, but many tourists to Fukui stop by the ruins.
