... hostel and again just chilled trying another Japanese beer . We then decided that we couldn't avoid trying Okinomiyaki which is famous to Osaka . We went to a restaurant and they cooked the Okinomiyaki for us and then put it on the hot plate in front of it. Even though it was so small it was thick and very filling . Very different to home as well . It was a wonderful first day in Kyoto. Can't wait to see what tomorrow brings. ...

... never made clear to us but the berry itself grew on a moderately sized bush and was juicy like a cherry and pitted as well. We filled a few 5 gallon jugs with these berries, with the help of the hosts 3 year old daughter who ate more than she picked. With the berries in tow we headed home for lunch and while waiting, mashed the berries with vinegar and sugar to make wine. ... This Sunday was museum day! We hit up not only the Ukiyo-e Museum of wood block printing but also the Matsumoto Museum of Art. ... big wooden tables, a huge bar with every usual and unusual alcoholic beverage, and a menu that made our mouths water. We ordered a couple drinks and then tucked into the best fish and chips I have ever tasted.
