... br> We walked to the Hama-Rikyu Gardens, which is one of the oldest gardens in Tokyo. Unfortunately, we only had 45 minutes and we ended up in the wrong direction. We reached the designated boat pier directly instead of winding our way around the gardens. Oh well, maybe next time. We had been to the gardens a few years ago with Shigeki.

From the gardens, we took a one stop ride by boat and changed to another boat to Odaiba. ...

... food goes around and around, and you just grab what you want. The sushi is usually served two pieces per plate, and the plates are colour coded to signify price. We later stopped at the local tea merchants house, and he attempted to get us all drunk on cherry whiskey made in the Fukushima region of Japan, and sake made by the local high school kids. It was a very fun night.

We have a couple days in Tokyo to recuperate, next stop, South Korea!

Monday was really sad leaving everybody. We all got slowly separated into smaller and smaller groups until it was just me on the train with Derek (a trainer) heading for the airport. Today we had a free day before Bernd's J-PARC shifts and before the late-season typhoon hits that’s bearing down on us … heavy rain in store the next 2-3 days.
