... One of its most popular attractions is the island’s tallest tree. Sitting serenely on the side of the road in Wat Pho, this imperious tropical rubber forest tree has a girth of 14 meters wide. Tourists frequently make the trip to have their picture taken with this impressively monstrous tree.

Another popular destination for hikers and day trippers is Khao Ra. The Ra Mountain towers over Koh Phangan and can be seen from just about ...

... sitting on bar stools looking straight out to the beach and sea. A little paradise. Almost….the little paradise was in fact rudely interrupted with a shooting one night at 7.30pm in the Kama Sutra bar just a minute walk away - with a local businessman shot dead. But before we could leave the Nathan's had to change because they both turned up at reception wearing pretty much the same thing! Our first stop was at a series of temples. The temples had impressive designs that were really colourful. They all seemed to be on a lake with some huge statues of the Buddha outside of them with all of his arms. They were also building some new temples ...

... nightlife. Unfortunately we didn't time our visit well enough to go to any full/half moon parties. (Maybe next time :p)

We went into the centre of Chaweng for dinner and went to a lovely but fairly pricey Italian restaurant. We saw quite a few lady boys trying to entice people into their cabaret shows. We didn't fancy seeing any shows yet, we're going to save that for Phuket or Bangkok I think. Rob kept getting hassled every time we ...
