Our next stop was the historical & medieval castle of St Michael's Mount dating back to the 12th century, previously a Benedictine Monastery, fortress, a port & family home. Here our fitness level was tested, at least 500 very steep steps over rugged terrain, but well worth it.

... wild ponies & because of the inclement weather covered in mist. Another quaint village where we stopped for coffee was Widecombe.
Last night we stayed at the Two Bridges Hotel in Dartmoor which was built in 1770. Many famous guests have stayed there over its 240 year history including Vivienne Leigh, Winston Churchill, Wallace Simpson, Nicholas Cage.
