... for fishing, and several men were doing that today. I spoke to two chaps, one was reeling in a fish, a Mirror Carp, which estimated to be 12 lbs., see photos. Once caught it is released back into the lake to be tempted by someones bait again and again. Carp is the main fish here. This was a quiet Sunday morning though not really intended to be so. We took a bus to Hyde Park which was great, a double-decker so we could see lots: buildings, shops, gardens, people……… but it was well and truly held up by traffic snarls due to an enormous charity fun run/walk involving lots of different causes, and in the end the bus stopped and we changed to another which took a different direction to Hyde Park. Saturday we were up bright and early, having arranged to meet Vince and Tony in Northumberland Avenue in a café for breakfast. Coincidentally it was across the road from the Citadines where we stayed in 2004 thanks to a good staff discount from NZ Defence, and not far from New Zealand House which we visited and got to go up to their rooftop entertaining area which has a 360 degree view of London – amazing.
