42 Tran Phu St. Nha Trang, Vietnam, 58-3521-500
We arrived in Nha Trang at about 7am, after 12 hours on a bus - not recommended, trying to sleep on a bus is difficult enough without the frequent bumps as we hit yet another 'bad' patch on the road. At US$6 each, I suppose you get what you pay for! Nha Trang is a seaside resort with lots of bars and restaurants. It's really popular with divers, but the water is murky in November, which reduces visibility. Our hotel was a 2 minute walk to the beach. I had expected the beach to be packed, but ...
Nha Trang, Vietnam andy_and_julieAfter a short taxi ride from Hoi An, we flew from Da Nang airport to Nha Trang. The 40km taxi ride to the Nha Trang Lodge followed the coast line and we got to view the blue sea and brightly coloured fishing boats. We left the exploring to others in Nha Trang. We'd received a hot tip from a friend that there was a brewery in town that had a swimming pool and were pretty keen to check it out. The tip paid dividends and we ended up spending more time at the Louisiane Brewery than we did in our...
Nha Trang, Vietnam batchelomezWell I don't really have any news, apart from I arrived in Nha Trang last night - a nightmare trying to find somewhere to stay and eventually found a hotel and managed to get them to reduce the rate of the room so all's good! Apart from being woken up this morning at 6am to the sound of building works, it's fine. Bummed around on the beach all day and not sure what i'm going to do tomorrow or the next day yet. I'm planning to go to the Thap Ba Hot Springs before I leave Nha Trang for some mor...
Nha Trang, Vietnam dibNha Trang's sandy beaches is what draws the throngs of Vietnamese to this city. Sure, there is your usual legion of sun-burnt Westerners running around. But the beach is equally enjoyed by everyone, foreign and local alike. My hotel room in Nha Trang had a killer view, looking out onto the beach and the South China Sea beyond. Get this - two of the four walls in my hotel room were just sheer window. It was incredible. I've never found so many excuses to "have to go back to my hotel" before. A...
Nha Trang, Vietnam flennon5Dalat was kind of lonely - lovely but lonely... I had a great day touring with my Easy Rider - we visited the beautiful Pongour Falls, which are sadly going to be no more when the valley they lie in will be flooded for a hydro dam in January... Then more waterfalls with more cheesy theme-park-ness which Dalat does so very well, a visit to a mushroom farm, and to 'Chicken Village' a 'native' village famous for its massive concrete rooster!! where I watched some weaving being done (I really wan...
Nha Trang, Vietnam redjenWe took a flight from Hoi An to Nha Trang. I was stopped at the airport security checkpoint and the Vietnamese police went through all my magic stuff. They even asked me to perform a trick at the airport to prove I was a magician. Not sure if that was part of the standard procedure but having a group of serious looking dudes suddenly lighten up, smile and all give me the thumbs up was quite cool! We arrived at our Hotel, just 5 min walk from the beach...while Salud went to the beach for an ho...
Nha Trang, Nha Trang, Vietnam ruairiocPost-storm, our boat trip was cancelled and the crystal clear postcard waters were brown and rough, but that was okay, we wandered the streets and bought pirated alternative music, explored the market beneath our jacket hoods and had some fantastically large prawns for dinner.

... Hanh and leave tomorrow on our motorbike adventure. Luc will drive his own bike and I will be on the back of the guides bike, there is one more guy joining us I believe. Should be quite the adventure though... 4 nights, 5 days, goes along part of the Ho Chi Minh Trail and we end in Hoi An. I get ahead of myself though.... yesterday we did indeed do two dives with Octopus divers. Our Dive master was Amanda.... from Kelowna.... kind of Funny! The ...
Nha Trang, Vietnam heatherlindsay... it was called that. The waitress told me that I would see why... so I get it, drink it, and it felt like swallowing fire. I had no idea how many mixes were in it, but I could taste pure vodka and pure lemon juice. Those two alone are quite burners. Today.... I got awoken by Vu's oh so soothing voice singing me happy birthday. lol, thank you brother. Going downstairs for breakfast..... my parents ...
Nha Trang, Vietnam tiny.thi... of going to dinner at a microbrew on the beach, listening to a band play our requests ( Total Eclipse of the Heart, Killing me Softly) and drinking a few nice beers. We hwent to another bar after that and met some Australians that had been on the plane with us that day and ended up talking with them for another couple hours before calling it a night. An observation that I have had here that I wanted to share is that if you come here and you want ...
