... time we had seen quite a bit of central Osaka.

Sachiko met us and took us for dinner - in front of us a large hotplate on which a waitress placed a mix of egg, cabbage and noodles, turned them when ready and added another dish of noodles and pork alongside, this one just needing heating. Such an easy meal, simple and quick, tasty and filling.

And that for us was Osaka! Hotel bus shuttle to the airport, ...

Today is the first day of our experience week to Osaka, Japan. We arrived early at the airport at around 8:30, everybody was excited and ready to get started. After a long, tiring 3-hour plane ride, we finally arrived in Japan. We met our tour guide, Mao Sang and Mandy and they told us of our activities for the rest of the day, the students were thrilled and wanted to learn as much Japanese as possible. ... a walk outside to see the what is near the hotel. I find a sort of arcade streets where the entire street is covered with a plastic roof. This is handy because it is still raining.
I do notice that the streets aren't strait but instead bend as streets do in older cities. Never the less I loose my barrings and when I cross a river that is not on my map I discover that I have walked outside ...

... which means we covered a lot of land! Kayley spent the time listening to the audio-book of Harry potter and Andy tried to catch up on the blog. We arrived into Shin-Osaka and changed to the Osaka loop line to get to the actual Osaka station. Shin means new in Japanese, in this case our hotel is right next to Osaka station but the bullet train comes in to Shin-Osaka so we had to transfer once we arrived. It was a very easy journey.
Our hotel was around 10 minute walk ...

... even shops) are located on the second floor or higher here. :-D So different than i am used to. Eventually we found a nice small bar and after a short explanation of the seating charge i was enjoying my first beer. :-)

We noticed that the radio in the bar was only playing Beyonce music and after asking the bartender he told us that he felt like playing Beyonce this evening, all evening. :-D We ordered another round of drinks and after that went back to the hostel and off to ...
