On August 26th we arrived in Colorado, one of my favorite states in the USA. Shortly afterwards we went up to Rocky Mountain National Park which has snow covered mountains even in the summer time.

Day 6

It's Billy's Birthday!!!!! My gorgeous man is now 30!! Yay! He is officially old lol!! To celebrate his exit from his glorious 20s I planned a tour of all your 7mate reality shows including, Pawn Stars, Counting Choppers and Tanked. Today it was the Giant Slalom. Two runs several hours apart with the lowest total time the winner. As it was yesterday skiers only have a course inspection several hours before. The day was not too cold and the course was once again in perfect condition. You really must congratulate the organisers as the course has been immaculately prepared for all these races. Back to do it all again! Men's Super G on the difficult Birds of Prey Course at Beaver Creek.

Super G is like downhill but with a few more gates that the skier has to pass through. Unlike downhill though they do not get any training runs on the actual course only a course inspection an hour or so before the start time. This adds to the challenge for the skier and excitement for the spectators as sometimes it all goes horribly ...

... that there are opportunities to mingle with the athletes themselves. On our bus back to the village at the end of the day was the bronze medallist, Steve Nyman from the USA. Just sitting on the seat next to us as we travelled down. He was more than happy to have his photo taken and he was on a real high after his success today.
