On August 26th we arrived in Colorado, one of my favorite states in the USA. Shortly afterwards we went up to Rocky Mountain National Park which has snow covered mountains even in the summer time.

... as we made our way up the the newly built Red Tail Stadium at Beaver Creek. What a stunning view we had not just of the course but the surrounding mountains as well. The course was in perfect condition and the view from the stadium was great we we were able to see a large portion of the downhill run. There was a huge giant screen as well so that we could see the action close up as well.

... at night after dinner is so pretty as the trees are lit up with lights, there is an ice skating rink in the middle of the plaza which the children enjoy and all the shops are open till around 9pm. Love to window shop. They are very expensive but they are so different to anything we see at home, it is enjoyable to see what is on offer and at what price. They certainly cater for those on a million dollar plus income that's for sure.

... found out were made of gypsum. In actual fact they mine gypsum in this area. Whenever I use gypsum on the garden again I am sure I will think of this drive. We came across a flock of wild turkeys near the rest stop. Amazing they survived Thanksgiving!

We stopped also at the small township of Eagle. There was not much here but we did find 'The Store That Sells Everything'. The gun totin' bags caught my attention as they were similar to the one ...

... rugby tournament that attracts nearly 50 teams from all over the continental United States, Hawaii, the southern Hemisphere and Europe. Rugby turns up in the most unusual of places!!
