They gather the crops in, freshly paint their houses and temples, use coloured powder to create the amazing designs and give thanks to the gods for the food they've been given, and ask them if they can please have more next year. Again, this was all explained by the Israeli who had visited several villages and had spoken to people and not by our guide who had wandered off to wait for us.


But one thing Ooty does have that the other ...

... has statues of the God of Healing (something to do with Ayurvedic medicine) and he sings this beautiful prayer to him - he also sings to us (not in English obviously) during shavasana (end relaxation pose) - its truly the most incredible yoga experience Ive ever had. India. Mountains. Sunrise. A little bit cold but heated by a couple of fire places - it was incredible.

Just a side step here - the jungly mountains - have wild ELEPHANTS! Elephants! And sometimes we see ...

... do not have many people getting on or off. I have no idea where the town or village is related to these stations. Many monkies at the stops which are fed by passengers: then the monkies attack passengers and they wonder why??

Arrive at Coonoor where the steam engine is removed and a diesel attached for the 20 kms to Ooty.
