... aside for shopping so we hit the market in the afternoon.It was good for a change,it wasn't just all the usual ****.I bought a few t-shirts and a lovely shirt (Bailey didn't agree) and she bought a load of stuff for home.After we headed to a little food market and had some great food.We met an Oz couple who had been backpacking on and off for 30 years-they had some great stories!They even had one about a priest who gave them a lift in Galway years ...

... very seriously.

Another shameless side of the city can be seen in the dodgy taxis which are tough to keep tabs on. Pleased to have found a reputable firm 'Vinasun’ I was shocked to see the 200,000 fare we had run up on the meter for a journey that should have cost no more than 25,000 dong. When I got out the taxi I noticed the firm was in fact ...

... a natural than me!! Had a go at crawling through some of the tunnels- was weird. We then came back to the city and had some lunch. Now we are waiting around at the hotel for our bus in a few hours to take us to our overnight train. I'm actually quite looking forward to it. The beds apparently haven't been washed as ppl would have just got off- so thank god for my silk sleeping bag liner. Will update when in the next civilized place- send me emails so I know everyone elses news! xxx

... and pedestrian only pavements! There are literally hundreds of scooters on every road, some parked up covering all the pavement and most whizzing past at breakneck speeds. No-one walks anywhere here except for the farang foreigners. Crossing the road here is a life-or-death experience every time. Because there are no pedestrians, there are also no road crossings. Combined with the Asian way of only stopping at red lights if you feel like it, crossing ...

So after our walkabouts yesterday, we hit up a few museums today, including far too much walking for our very short legs (well, mine anyway).
