Interesting village where Van Gogh lived the last 70 days of his life & where he is buried. He painted 80 paintings & 100+ drawings during this time! Once again we're having unusually nice weather. Last week it was cold & rainy. This afternoon we are sailing back to Paris... Some are touring Versailles & we will pick them up along the river somewhere. I'm enjoying my panoramic windows open and listening to the birds & ...

We used the last one to connect our clear pipe to our blue pipe to reach a tap, so we need to replace that. And Sue gave us rillettes d'oel and I wanted to get some to take with us. ... young vines and old vines. Very pleasant. The wine industry in France and especially the Loire Valley is very heavily regulated. Growers are not allowed to irrigate and there are limits to how much wine they can produce for sale under AOC regulations. Our last day was meant to be a riding day. Again it was raining. We were dropped off at Fontevraud Abbey which has been an abbey for men and some , although separated. It was also a prison, nunnery and is the ...

... did a bit of shopping.

Another nice day but a bit cooler. We went up into the town to the bakers and the butchers where we got the most delicious meat. After lunch, we walked along the river bank to the lock. It is all very lovely and the houses opposite the Aire are to die for. It was very busy and we now know why we were told not to be too late getting there as you are at risk of not getting a ...
