Left Tewkesbury and caught 8 o'clock bus to Cheltenham and had breakfast at wetherspoons before catching coach at 10.15 (1st May). Arrived at Heathrow in good time. All went smoothly and checked in at airport in good time. Flight went 15 minutes late but still arrived 15 minutes early in Beijing (2nd May) at 9.15. Suzhou is famed for its private gardens, canals and silk and is frequently compared with Venice as 42% of the area of the city is covered by water. Suzhou is in the middle of the Yangtze Delta. ... which we had been able to choose the beads and then the bracelets had been assembled on the spot. Our walk took us to the far end of the section of canal where we found a man selling fruit. For some reason, strawberries in China taste better than anywhere else and Juliet and I bought a punnet to munch on as our pudding.
