Cheap $35. Close to airport. Great for layover. Hard bed surprisingly comfortable. Could have done without Garfield the cat meowing at 0500!

The Great Residence hotel is extremely good value for money with our room costing £14 for two of us including transfer to and from the airport. There is a pool which is perfect after a long flight, the staff are friendly although the restaurant serves average thai food. The room was very clean and a decent size with a basic but again clean bathroom. Overall - very good value for anyone needing an overnight stop near the airport after a long flight.

Good service, clean and comfortable rooms

When arriving at midnight in a strange country, it's nice when you're bed is only 5 minutes away. They handle all your luggage and treat you like you're at a 5 star hotel (yes I've tried one, once). The rooms are clean and beds are comfortable. Air conditioning worked well, as did the hot water. Travelers unfamiliar with international showering systems will have a little trouble with the controls, but it's not hard to learn. This hotel is a little out of the way of everything else, but the location is pleasant, at the end of a cul de sac, under a freeway ramp that's not too noisy, with fields of greenery and palm trees to the sides. Restaurant didn't have any food after 10am.

    ... very busy.

It is interesting, how the more you walk, the more there is, side streets, back streets, everywhere you go there are vendors. It is hard to fathom how they can all be making a living, selling the same products, but I guess in a city of 12 million, a lot of people need to eat and buy socks.

I finally took the plunge and stopped for a 10 minute fish spa. I kept thinking about it, but always kept going. So essentially, on ...

... inbetween. If we weren’t ill then there’d be something wrong with us. Tomorrow we’re heading to Pattaya to hit some beers. It’s one last drink before we ride to the border and part ways. I have it easier, I’m just cruising back to somewhere quiet and crashing out but Marcin now has to swallow hundreds of miles on a solo ride through Asia and i don’t envy him. Pattaya is nice but I’m not even looking forward to it, I just want to ...
