disappearing away from the island at speeds varying from 8 to up to 28 knots; (very similar to Miles per hour, just add a little bit extra). ... a quick change and made our way to the dining room so we could eat dinner and then go to the theater to see a comedian. The performer's name was Tom Briscoe and he was very good/funny. The cruise director was also quite funny and entertained us for about ten minutes after the headliner.
We could hardly wait to get back to the room for a shower and to watch another On Demand movie. They add movies to the list every day, so it's always a treat to see what's on. ...
Well another week has almost passed and we are getting closer and closer. It doesn't look like the work will be finished before Tuesday at the earliest but it is moving along. No use complaining I can see everyone is working and the number of yachts here with urgent repairs after the Hurricane is astonishing. The fact that we are getting our yacht done at all is fantastic as the waiting time just to get anyone to come and look ...
... got blonde dreadlocks and works on outboards; that much I've worked out from probably two hours of conversation! There is an 80+ year old Welshman I met last night who talked my ear off for an hour. Not sure what he does but he only charges $40 an hour at the most and hasn't changed his price since 1985! Then there is Andrew. Andrew is English and has sailed around the world in a Beneteau 50 previously and is probably somewhat over 75. Wears cool Mountaineer Sunnies ...
Well "Dave" has finally been lifted out of the tangled wreckage of Hurricane Gonzales and is sitting comfortably on the sea lift. The rudder was worked on again today and hopefully will be finished before knock off. Tomorrow is a holiday here (not sure what for) so she will go back in the water first thing at 7.30am on Wednesday and then we'll move her over to the FKG dock to get the upgrades done.
Getting her out of the tangle of damaged boats was no easy feat for the sea ...
