... purchase a day long ticket on the canal ferries that whisk people about every few minutes. I was entranced by the commercial small vessels of all descriptions scurrying about the canals dodging the ferry boats and Gondolas with tourists being poled along. These working boats were piled high with shrink wrapped pallets of beers and soft drink, cases of food and bags of laundry from the many hotels that lined the canals. Of coarse nothing can go perfectly so the first train that we were waiting for had been cancelled for some un known reason, so Lennea and I ...

... shops. However we did climb up to castle hill where you get an amazing view of the town and port. And how can I forget - for dinner we went to the notorious "Wayne's bar". Both friends and Christine (home stay) had told us to go there. Basically its a good old english pub in the heart of the old town - but I must say it was nice being greeted in English!!

We are now off to the Avignon and then Geneva - roll on Switzerland!!

Ciao for now
