Today we visited the smoky cape Lighthouse the highest lighthouse in NSW. A stunning walk uphill for about 14km. Once there the lighthouse was in pristine condition. We spotted a humpback whale breaching in the distance. When we walked down from the lighthouse we encountered a Goanna (iguana XXL) See video below.

Another information board told us to look out for whales, but it was a little too late to see them now and we soon turned back and walked back to the mainland. As we approached the marina we noticed a deep dark cloud slowly rolling towards us in the distance. It seemed it would be another day where the storms chased us, but we still had a good while of sunshine left to explore ...

... into a type of interment camp for educated german citizens thought to be a possible problem for Australia during the war. The camp was eventually decommissioned near the end of the war when a German warship was rumoured to be coming to South West Rocks to free the men and was seen on the coast. Now the prison has been partially reconstructed and is now a historic landmark of Australia. The self guided tour of the prison was very interesting and worth ...
