... a glacier. One of the passengers then had a medical problem so we made a bee line back to the harbor where we were met by the EMTs. Luckily the passenger walked off the boat under his own power, but it turned our 6 hour cruise into a 3 hour cruise where we just saw the otters and some puffins. Very disappointing. At least the tour company is refunding ...

The cruise departs Seward and heads through Resurrection Bay, around Aialik Cape, past Three Hole Bay and into the Holgate Arm. At the top of the Holgate Arm is Holgate Glacier. The cruise then continues on to the Aialik Glacier and then returns to Seward past some of the islands.

The scenery was stunning! Heidi laughed at us as we had suited up in our ...

Heidi was from Vermont but had been spent 4 summers in Alaska and had just completed her first Winter! She thought few Americans care about education, pushing children for achievement. Interesting. I disagreed with her, but there's got to be a balance. A happy and a little stressed childhood that benefits their future life.
Seward, Alaska, United States ljandbev... as they do for breaths of air. It really was a fantastic cruise and a fantastic day sightseeing in some of Alaska's most picturesque waters. On the way back to Anchorage the following day, we took a short pitstop at the brilliant Wildlife Conservation Centre where sick and injured animals are cared for. We're not big fans of seeing animals behind fences and in cages but in this circumstance, we were delighted to visit and contribute towards its future by buying some souvenirs.

On the way back to town we stopped at the Salmon Bake ("cheap beer and lousy food," not) we had eaten at Sat night. I had more halibut (fish) for the third night in a row and Scott had king crab legs. Then we shared turtle cheese cake. With all the exercise we're getting we deserve a little dessert.

Disheartened we figured we had to go back to the village and wait for the next company's bus to arrive at 6.30pm Still cold, wet, annoyed and sick of hauling ...

This was an indoor aquarium which had a huge sea lion, seals and puffins and all the fish you can imagine. They also had tanks set up so you could touch some of the starfish, anemones, etc. It was a good place to stop. Eva - just like an ocean zoo. You would have loved it?!
