... degrees. Coming out of our whiskey tour it is now down pouring with rain and wee bit chilly and also a big crack of thunder occurs right above our head They didn't think eves or awnings were a good thing back in the previous centuries when building the city of Edinburgh therefore there is no where to hide for shelter and now we are 2 drenched Aussies. We head back to our 'wonderful' hotel to dry off. After updating our social media we head out for dinner, Italian ...

They kindly gave me a lift ...

A travel blog entry by jlr2101 on Aug 09, 2013

Today Mum and I enjoyed her belated birthday treat of a spa day at the Inchyra, complete with champagne lunch and mud treatment. We both had a nice relaxing time......I think I slept for the majority of it after waking up this morning from a Visa (work permit) related nightmare where I found out that, in fact, I hadn't applied for it at all! I've sent the Canadian High Commission the same email as yesterday, marked as 'URGENT' this time and ...

      Vacuum packing - genius!

Why didn't I think of this sooner? To maximise the limited space in mum and dad's house for all my lovely stuff I went to Argos to buy some vacuum packing bags, fab invention! Now I have reduced the size of my coats, dressing gowns and many hoodies by about half and they can be safely stored in the loft. I'm not sure what condition they'll be in when I open the bags but that's next year's worry! I had a ...
