... and it is 100% factual). Once back at the hotel I gave my first video diary entry for our tour. Don (our photography teacher) is going to put a video together that will include things we've seen plus videos from everyone on tour about their favourite part of the day. I asked to go first for two reasons: 1) I was really excited to see those paintings 2) I wanted to get it over with so I didn't have to worry about it for the rest of the trip :-) Tomorrow we have a long day ...

I've had a whirlwind few days meeting up with friends and family to say my goodbyes. Thursday I went into school to visit. A few of my previous class (and some staff!) looked very confused to see me as they'd been told at assembly I was already away! They kindly gave me a lift ...

The stakes are so high in the plot and there is so much drama by default because of the style of vocalization. There is room for crazy sets, ...

Some relaxation and car related paperwork

A travel blog entry by jlr2101 on Aug 09, 2013

Today Mum and I enjoyed her belated birthday treat of a spa day at the Inchyra, complete with champagne lunch and mud treatment. We both had a nice relaxing time......I think I slept for the majority of it after waking up this morning from a Visa (work permit) related nightmare where I found out that, in fact, I hadn't applied for it at all! I've sent the Canadian High Commission the same email as yesterday, marked as 'URGENT' this time and ...

      Vacuum packing - genius!

Why didn't I think of this sooner? To maximise the limited space in mum and dad's house for all my lovely stuff I went to Argos to buy some vacuum packing bags, fab invention! Now I have reduced the size of my coats, dressing gowns and many hoodies by about half and they can be safely stored in the loft. I'm not sure what condition they'll be in when I open the bags but that's next year's worry! I had a ...
