... we agreed that Monday evening would be a tame one. We went out for dinner and drank bubbly then we went to a bar and drank bubbly and beer. Semi and I played the slowest game of pool ever because we are as bad as each other and I danced and danced and danced. Our dorm is a good size and despite cold water, the showers are ...

... the last hour, having met Eddie the carpenter (while at the bus stop) and the two local guys on the beach when I popped down there to eye the shore. Vinny asked me where I was from and when I said London he said “ah, the mother country”; being the cynic I am I couldn’t help wonder what he would say to an American or a German tourist. Anyway, he asked me where I was going and I said I wanted to go to Moomi’s for a mosquito net (per ...

... island before starting a game of volleyball with two Germans. Paul was a young guy who looked a bit like Tintin and lied about being from Munich as he couldn’t be bothered to explain where in Germany he was actually from. Martin on the other hand was quite a bit older and, despite being an average volleyball player, produced an unorthodox backhand winner that left us all bewildered. After about an hour the game started to expand, with a couple ...
