... Some had marshmallows to toast. The kids loved that! Others had their kebabs on a metal skewer. They grilled in a jiffy and were pulled off into a loaf of bread. Fast food! We did wonder whether they would be tainted as there was a slight whiff of paraffin at the flame.

It was full moon so we didn't really need our torches but I used mine to highlight and avoid the odd slippery rock as I wobbled down. Earlier we ...

... beach and spent the day in and out of the water, staring into the waves like a crazy person. I wanted to memorize the shifts in blues, greens, and silvers. Oh man. On the bus to Antalya, the woman next to be was viscous with sick. Her fluids seeped into me and I partook in a Turkish flu. Feverish, headache, coughing. ... dark for 40 minutes we arrived at the site, were given torches and told to walk up the mountain for 20 minutes. Like doing the thousand steps without the well formed steps and in the dark. When we arrived the flames, although an interesting phenomenon were a bit like sitting around campfires. Still, glad we saw it.

Received more sad news. Our beautiful pet pooch, Ziggy has passed away. The house won't be the same without her.

... hike in the dark, up the side of the mountain. After 20 minutes of some steep climbing, lit by our flashlights and aided by the glow of the moon we arrived at the natural wonder that we traveled to see. Dotting the side of the mountain, pockets of orange flames emerged from the ground, flicking into the air. A natural phenomena caused by gases escaping from the under the ground and igniting when they come into contact with the air was a truly surreal sight to ...
