Grand Teton National Park Jackson, Wyoming, United States, 307-733-7271
This morning I woke up a little bit to tired and smelling like a fireplace. Yesterday evening our fantastic neighbors had a campfire. After a day working on the electronics in our bus, setting up my new PS 3 Slim among other things, this was a welcomed break. We brought a couple of bottles of wine ...
... and doing my meager best to imitate him when my good friend the rain came back to pay a visit. Had a nice thunderstorm roll through at sunset helping to add to the photos (I hope)
I was going to head down to Salt Lake City from here, but I think I have changed my mind and I am going to go across Idaha to Oregon and go to Crater Lake. Never been there and I want to see it, plus driving through the Utah - Nevada desert just doesn't sound that great right now.
I was up bright and early for the reasonably short drive to Yellowstone NP. The drive from Cody to Yellowstone was good and took me past Buffalo Bill Dam. After a brief stop there I continued on and arrived at Yellowstone NP around 8am. Yellowstone is a massive park and I had only allowed myself the one day to see as much of it as I could. It would be a great place to stay for a couple of days and do some of ...
Jackson, Wyoming, United States maccasworldtourToday dawns cold and cloudy. We pop over the road to Albertson's for a wonderful breakfast and return to find the keys locked inside the car. It's not for me to tell how or why, just that it's damn hard to find a locksmith in Jackson . After a superhuman effort by the proprietor, a tow truck eventually arrives ...
Jackson, Wyoming, United States mmbcrossWell, the Grand Tetons are grand. If you read this blog before the pictures are downloaded please go back and look at the pictures. My photographer has to download during times that we have electricity. That has only been once in the last eight days. But we have hot water and for only $3.50 hot showers, so who's complaining. And the tent cabin, let me tell you, is worth the $20 more per day. OK, it ...
Jackson, Wyoming, United States margomax... where it erupted on time. We were fortunate to see other eruptions in the distance also. We discovered the Old Faithful webcam and called as many people as we could, telling them to watch for us after got back from lunch. We lunched at the Old Faithful Inn - an interesting historic building with an amazing lobby of multi-storied timbered balconies. After lunch we ...
YellowStone National Park, Wyoming, United States patdenicevv... never having been there, I can't really draw comparisons, now can I?). We just got our backcountry pass and all that good stuff taken care of. Now we're going to hike in from Biscuit Basin, on the Firehole Lake Trail. We're told there's a waterfall right next to our campsite, so of course that sounds perfect to us!!
Yellowstone National Park, Wyoming, United States bfrogjules... California curl, were we seemed to go in circles. Went through a bit of water which had an underwater waterfall, which created bubble that looked just like champagne bubbles! We spent about an hour in total having the most amazing time. Thanks mum for birthday money....this is what we spent it on! If anyone wants to see the pictures of us rafting (or buy us one!), then go to www.floatographs.com and select rafting company mad river boat trips and the ...
Jackson, Wyoming, United States neilandamyHopefully car problems were a thing of the past, I got an early start making my way to the Mammoth Hot Springs entrance to Yellowstone National Park and the visitor area there about 8:10, only about 10 minutes from where I spent the night. And as I got out of the van I saw why they tell you not to feed the animals. There was a lady going up to an elk that was feeding in the area to give it something, but when she got ...
