We took the 12 hour bus ride from goreme to fethiye, a coastal town in turkey's south west. If this helps, istanbul is in the north west of the country and goreme is about smack center. The bus ride was painful, but at least the company was good. Fethiye, feti-where? Another big bus ride away was another town, I must say I'm not sure about the train system in turkey but the busses are bloody good! We get served cold water, soft drinks and 'snacks' on any bus and it's all pretty damn cheap!
