Tatranska Lomnica Tatranska Lomnica, Presov, Slovakia, 059 60, 52-446-7941
The Tatra Mountains are the natural border between Poland and Slovakia, and there has always been this question of which part is more beautiful. The secret is as follows: they are too different to compare. The Polish part is full of people, noise, activities, shops and festivals. The Slovakian part is quiet, peaceful and almost virgin-like, despite its well-developed infrastructure. It's simply because it's much ...

Chceme ist do potravin, no mame smolu, je zatvorene.

Ideme lesom a lukami tesne popri zeleznici a potoku. KRASNE !
Hnilec, Kosický, Slovakia thailonPrvy Hamor, Stredny Hamor, Zadny Hamor - Delava. Krasny usek, ciste a upravene chalupy, zije to tu chaluparmi. Delava je mala osada, par domov. Vidime tabulku potraviny, no miestny nam oznamuje, ze su davno zrusene. Cesta z Nalepkova az sem je asflatova, popri zeleznici. Miestami prechadza do strkovej.
Tatranska Lomnica, Prešovský, Slovakia eyreNow, you have to realise that Bukowina Tatrzańska is a perfect place if you want to spend a few days hiking in the mountains. It lacks the absurd amount of tourists and 'tourists' of the city of Zakopane, and it lacks its traffic, pollution and noise. Instead, it offers really breathtaking views over the Tatra Mountains, the delicious local cuisine and the folklore nowhere to be found any longer.
<br ...
Tatranska Lomnica, Presov, Slovakia mozi... years ago. First stop: Auschwitz. We walked just a few yards into the camp through the infamous iron gate that all prisoners walked through with the words "Arbeit Macht Frei" = Work will set you free. The gates were surrounded by heavy barbed wire with another electrically wired fence, followed by one more barbed wire fence. All parts of the camp that we saw were as they were in 1945 and well preserved. Inside the camp we saw many of the blocks where unimaginable ...
Oswiecim, Poland rlineurope... very slow border crossing. No problems, it took a while. But we reached the hotel before dark. It is a strange hotel -- very 1900s meets nouveau-riche chic -- giant black loungers and banquets in the main lobby; wide, dimly-lit and musty hallways (I was convinced the hotel is haunted; the chandeliers swang every so gently in the still air); large rooms, with green wall coverings. But it was comfortable, and we enjoyed the pianist while we had dinner in the lounge.
Tatranska Lomnica, Slovakia ahartry... ice. They did keep my toes warm though! The hiking didn't start too well. It had been recommended that I take the cable car halfway up the mountain, and start a walk from there. Being bloody minded, I decided I could walk halfway up the mountain before beginning my hike, and there was a walking trail from the cable car station to where I wanted to go. Fantastic! Half an hour later, and I reach the another cable car station, unhelpfully named 'Start'. Signs ...
Tatranska Lomnica, Slovakia mrconfused... Hrad (Spis Castle), which is massive and you may have seen it before, as it was used in the film Dragonheart, a movie about a dragon with a heart, I suppose. But now, the place is to be used again, in a film called The Last Legion starring Ben Kinglsey and Colin Firth in a Roman Epic. Filming starts in 11 days, but the set was being constructed, including entire new castle walls, which was a little annoying, but cool nevertheless. Reminder to you all, please ...
