The morning kicked off with a quick run at the hotels gym whilst Christopher who can't hold a conversation without completing his daily routine of CSF. (Coffee, smoke & ****) went off to find a coffee & have a smoke downstairs. I returned to the room to find a beautiful bunch of roses on the bed, I've never had roses before & I think …

A travel blog entry by bethlo

Hi after some complication with to get my bike on a plane. I have now arrived in KL it is nice and warm and a bit humid. I had a short walk around Bukit Bintang a area with lots of shopping centres and a Chinese food market. As it is nearly already midnight and the Internet cafe is going to close. Well, if you like shopping then kl is the place to be! we had great time haggling with the market traders of china town, and would have bought more had weight restrictions at the airport allowed. Las even got a comment from admiration for his haggling skills from one trader whom he had erm, "negotiated" with! Food was lovely and cheap as chips, and …

Meditations on detachment

... 2012-Dec-7 "I refer to the recent debate ... calling for an end to the death penalty ... The opposite view is that the death penalty is a fitting punishment ... Less publicized is the third view -- that the death penalty is too kind ... It is felt that the criminal is not made to suffer long enough, especially if the victim has suffered much. Slightly disappointed

    from JK_traveller

Stayed at this hotel for a couple of nights. The location is excellent, close to all major shopping centres, such as Sungai Wang, BB plaza and Lot 10. The room I stayed in was however small, the bed was hard to my liking. I could also hear the traffic noise from below. Service was average. My luggage was sent to my room only after i made a complaint, though I checked in a couple of hours earlier.

The staff were friendly and helpful.

    Great Location

    from Ledj

Stayed here June 2005, two adults two children 4 & 7, service spot on everywhere, breakfast buffet superb, close to shopping (which suited us), close to everything. We booked hotel because of pool, location to shops and they allowed 2 children to stay in room free of charge. The only problem we encountered was the pool pump broke and they closed the pool. We needed a pool for the kids (one the activities we promise the kids on all holidays) so the staff professionally allowed us to check out only charging us for nights used and provided transport to our new hotel. Would stay here again and have recommended to others already.

Great Location, New, Classy and Clean Decor

    from t3012

    1. Location -- Very convenient Just next to Lot 10 and near Sungei Wang and Bkt Bintang Monorail. Also within walking distance from Jln Imbi and Jln Alor (local streetside food stalls)

    2. Service -- Wonderful and Helpful Reception, Concierge and Housekeeping

    3. Food -- Not so fantastic buffet which didn't change much in the 3 days we had breakfast there. Although the omelette (freshly made) was fantastic!

    4. Rooms -- Clean and nice decor with darkwood and a flat TV! :)

    5. Swimming pool -- Comfortable size and pleasant deck. Gym overlooks swimming pool

    Great hotel & great price

    from Juzza77

I stayed at the Grand Plaza Parkroyal just on a quick stopover from Europe to Australia.

I arrived at 8am & check-in wasn't until 2pm, but they checked me in without a problem which was great as I was desperate for sleep. Just a note though - you must specify you want a non-smoking room, otherwise they will put you in a smoking room & they are not as nice. After my sleep I went back downstairs & got my room changed over while I was out shopping, which was great.

The rooms are quiet unusual in design (the bathroom is not in a seperate room to the bedroom) but it was furnished nicely & very spacious. The buffet breakfast is amazing - I ate so much I didn't need lunch!

The hotel is in a great position - I took cabs everywhere because it was so cheap, but the hotel is only a 5 minute taxt ride from both Chinatown & the major shopping centres.

It's a great hotel for any kind of traveller & the staff are fantastic - listen to the tips the doormen give you, it can save you a small fortune in taxi fares!

I highly recommend the Grand Plaza Parkroyal!

Good location, great breakfast, rooms were average plus

    from KASE

The hotel has a good location close to several of the shopping malls and not far away from the major sights, and the breakfast is excellent. We were however slightly disappointed with the rooms, which were redecorated in minimalistic style with medium quality material and already slightly worn.

    A Delight

    from cocodream

Great rooms and food, friendly helpful staff. Best of all GREAT location for shopping and eating. Enjoy!

I paid roughly $100 Au per night for accommodation with breakfast and transfers (including all taxes) outstanding value stopover.

    Clean, airy hotel

    from jansim

enjoyed a great stay here. Spotlessly clean hotel and very central for shopping - could not have been better.

The irish pub was amazing and quite amusing seeing the Chinese locals enjoying their draft Guinness!!

    Wonderful wonderful wonderful wonderful

    from anonymous

In October last year my mother and i went to Malaysia for my 18th birthday. After recommendation from our travel agent we decided on the Grand Plaza Parkroyal and we couldn't have been happier. From the moment we arrived all the staff were very pleasant and helpful, our room was great and very clean and well serviced every day. The buffet breakfast was great with pleanty of choices and the staff gave us great directions on where to go each day. The hotel security was first class and as two female travelers we felt safe at all times of the day and night. The numerous restuarants in the hotel were excellent with pleantly of different selections to choose from. The Grand Plaza is centraly located with several shopping malls in walking distance and to go further cabs were always avaliable at the from enterance. On our last day reception staff found out that our flight left late in the evening and so we were given a free late checkout till our shuttle arrived. If we ever go to Kuala lumpur again we will deffinitly stay here again!!

    Great Hotel

    from diamondtell

Excellent hotel very convenient for shopping and twin towers.China town only five min in taxi fares very cheap.People very helpfully and we found KL very safe to walk around

    Funny.....

    from anonymous

The Location of the hotel is good. Cleanliness is superb. Friendly and cooperative housekeep, concierge and restaurant staff. But quite rude and snobbish front office staff. The interior is catchy and had nice color schemes.

The Superior rooms are small and their bathrooms are quite interesting. The doors of bathroom and toilets are of glass (no don't worry truculent ones) and are quite small. No long baths but just a shower. There is no space to keep the clothes you are wearing nor you can hang or keep your clothes you intend to wear nor even a place for the bath towel. So it's kinda tricky being a double room. In one of the superior rooms the wash basis is just next to the side table of the bed and looks quite funny.

The small refrigerator was not cooling enough so was not able to enjoy may late night coke's

Buffet breakfast was quite nice. Facilities otherwise in the rooms are good. Best thing I like was the centralized lights, A/c control on the bedside.
