... for more blogs this month as Im gonna try and dive as much as I can before I leave. I can see the light at the end of the tunnel! I can feel it to! Going from 86 to 36 degrees is going to be a blast!

BTW.. I also had a chance while joe was finishing his class to check out some WWII spots around the dive harbor. I found some old Japanese "pillboxes" made around a little peninsula. They covered them with rocks and set them up to try and ...
Oceanview, Guam guamblog... different experience then with someone else. It was very peaceful and still exhilarating at the same time. The whole 5 hours of hiking was completely silent and just leaves you to your own thoughts and world. The quiet brings out a lot more wildlife to and gives you more of a chance to really notice everything around you. For example.. Ive heard stories about these "Moniter Lizards" here which are huge lizards that are really quick and very rarely seen. Ive been ...
Oceanview, Guam guamblog... very good. Eventually, the crew moved off the ship and settled into a "normal" routine ashore. ScuttlingAt the outbreak of American's entry into World War I, on April 7, 1917 the captain of the Cormoran, Adalbert Zuckschwerdt, scuttled the ship, inApra Harbor, instead of turning her over to the Americans. 13 crew members went down with the ship and they were buried with full military honors in the Naval cemetery in Agana. The remainder ...
Oceanview, Guam guamblog... back, and the father signaled the men to halt and to watch. The couple stood at the very edge of the cliff. The boy and girl took the long strands of their hair and tied these together into a rope-like knot. The two acted as if they were absolutely alone. They looked deeply into each other's eye and kissed one last time. In that instant, the young couple leaped down the long, deep cliff into the roaring waves below. When the father looked down over the edge ...
Merizo, Guam guamblogSo, pretty much every hike Ive ventured on so far, we have accomplished without a map. Ive looked at satellite pictures, read travel blogs and used a gps to find a trail heading but being that adventurous does NOT always work to your advantage. Lesson learned. Hearing stories of a secluded waterfall on the south side of the island, myself and a friend started trying to plan a trip last weekend. With very limited information and the non-desire to ...
Tumon, Guam travellerhans... We rented a car, and honestly a dozen hours was about all the time we needed. I was glad to finally see Guam (and finally be able to get a Chalupa Combo at Taco Bell!), but there are far prettier and interesting islands in this region to see...like Palau, the one we are flying to tonight! She Said: Hmmm...Guam....I would say skip Guam unless you have to go there to make a connecting flight. It's not that there is anything wrong with it ...
Tumon, Guam globedecker... day. On our flight to Tokyo/Narita, we were upgraded to FIRST CLASS, much to our suprise! It was nice to be able to recline and sleep on the way. I will definitely fly JAL again, it is nice to know that customer service is still practiced by some airlines. The flight attendants even found a cheese and cracker snack for me, instead of the sushi box everyone else ate--THANK YOU JAPAN AIRLINES!!!
Agana, Guam joelle... the ********icer who'd bought me the Hawaiian shirt the day before $30, so I paid him back in cash, and he paid for our drinks (how generous) with that money. I am not really angry about the money, but am serious that he is a jerk. This is common knowledge; he admits it himself. He's one of those people who likes to make fun of ensigns (new officers) because they're new. I guess it's part of my training. So the entire time at the bar, he and the warrant officer who is his ...
