    ... Amazing promenade with shooting ranges (balloons, bottles, cans on the rocks), makeshift cafes and BBQs, bean bags on the grass for shisha pipes……fishermen, families and vendors galore.

Ottoman sultans lived and where Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, after founding the Turkish Republic in 1924, spent his final days, dying on 10 November 1936 at 9:05AM (a very specific time, yes, but it is remembered yearly at that exact time). Sounded like a worthwhile place to check out, then, so we went down...and our jaws hit the paving stones at the price. 40TL per person, which is nearly what we were paying per person per night for sleeping.
