We land at Rome tomorrow 7.40 am local and meet with other family and friends already in Rome and arriving from elsewhere. A bus then takes us to San Benedetto del Tronto, a seaside town on the Adriatic coast 4 hours away from Rome and 30 minutes from Ascoli Piceno. After several of the hottest and sunniest sea days we've had, full of day drinking and tanning, we had arrived in Colombo, the capital of Sri Lanka. I was sad to say goodbye to the 4 Tunes but we'll be seeing them on the next cruise we do. As soon as I stepped outside it smelt pretty bad and it was the hottest temperature I've ever experienced. ... I planned this trip and looked at a map of Asia it seemed a simple task to just pop down the coast. But I've soon realised that popping anywhere takes the best part of a day and when that day is 32 degrees and you are carrying a 25kg back pack then it makes a journey into a job: hard work at times.I am hoping that Thailand will be a little slower paced. I think that perhaps choosing fewer places and spending longer there is perhaps the way to ...
