Leaving the tropical humidity of Peninsular Malaysia behind, we were unprepared for the chillness that Nepal had in store for us. During the time in Malaysia, our wardrobe had slowly morphed into a selection of only the flimsiest of garments, and as an unexpected frostwave took over the inner streets of Kathmandu, our bare frozen bones needed steaming hot momos combined with exercise in warm blankets and burning showers to make ourselves at ease again. Great, laid back staff, and a really nice mix of travellers - from Jay, a retiree who has lived in India on and off for years, to David, a young composer here studying the local musical style. So we ate dossia, pongal, idli, sanbals, birdie and lots of unidentified things. Walked the waterfront, explored the streets and saw a few temples. The highlight was attending a concert of ...

... lit & the ongoing sound of a prayer reminding machine playing over & over again day in day out. I find myself humming the tune. I can't see them forgetting to pray when there's a big golden god sat on the desks about the size of a cocker-spaniel. I have filmed the local cross-roads outside our room so you can all see just how bonkers these people are out here. There have absolutely no rules, no speed limits, no paths so its total grid lock!!...bikes/scooters, push bikes, ...
