... only 135 Euros - we like it like that!!!
We ran into Tian who runs the Cantina in our old marina while sitting in a pub in Gibraltar and had a great evening with him, plus a couple of others from Port d'Andratx. They had brought a 30m motoryacht down from the port to refuel. We had dinner onboard drinking fabulous wines, eating the hugest Mallorcan prawns followed by lamb and celebrated Si's birthday at midnight with Moet. It'll take us a day or two to recover from that!!
... rums had the desired effect of making for a good night's sleep. The night was a bit wobbly for some of us.
At some point in the night it was time to leave the pub and head back to the camp site. It appeared to be locked so I jumped the fence. Andrew and Heather just opened the gate. Oh well. Lene seemed not to notice the open gate and also jumped the fence, much to everybody's amusement.

... chatted until we noticed a car parked up in the near distance. When the headlights went on we could see people gathering and we could tell it wouldn't be long till we had company... this should be interesting. God knows what they were doing as it took about an hour but eventually yes we were greeted by 4 cars and 8 police officers... most of which carrying gun holsters. What a fabulous introduction to bush camping. Hahahahaaaa ...
Ceuta, Spain and Canary Islands oliveramber... tourists with muffins or something.... there was a section with displays of war, back in the day when gibraltar was being fought for the ppl who lived there had to hide in the hill and they had limited food then ppl started dying of disease but they stil had time to torture ppl cause we saw a cool display about that, haha. they had manakin displays. then we saw the military reserve base, some ppl had driven up to this point and left their car windows down and a ...
Gibraltar, Gibraltar mooseineurope... morning. The flight itself was uneventful,I chatted to a woman with her young daughter about the bonuses of house swapping on the Internet, my recent couch surfing discovery and my plans to dance round the world...she told me about her recent career change to become an architectural interior designer. It sounded interesting and at the same time tough. The journey passed quickly. The landing at Gibraltar airport never fails to impress me ..the ...
Estepona, Andalusia, Spain and Canary Islands redbikini... the border fence also looked to be Black Africans rather than Moroccans. Although many Moroccans wish to head to the European Union for a better life, for them crossing into Ceuta is in and of itself not a particularly meaningful step. That's a different story, however, for people from many sub-Saharan African nations for whom Ceuta is the easiest E.U. territory to get a foothold in and with it the opportunity to request ...
Ceuta, Spain modernnomad67... said lets just walk off, we.ll find it eventually, and somehow we found it really quickly, albeit on a slightly different route. I had a quick shower and got dressed ready to go out. We walked along the beach front an had a drink in a bar which had reggaton music playing, a pool table and lots of young people in it. It was quite a nice place and then we decided to find somewhere else and after looking for a bit went to a restaurant bar. It was quite posh and when ...
Tangier, Morocco shelwar83... and I were starting to talk about seperating. In the end we decided that maybe we should just stay in Morocco a bit longer in order to save money and because I think we weren´t ready to either part ways or leave Morocco. We took off in a hurry the next day for Tangier where we were going to catch some kind of transport down south again.
Ceuta, Morocco traciehowe... unnecessary ones. Below the homes the land is terraced for agriculture. An intricate system of irrigation ditches crisscross the mountain side. The result is a lush pattern of greens and yellows. Above the homes on the seemingly steep barren slopes, goats and sheep are grazing under the watchful eye of the herdsman. How's that for a setting? Most of the villages cannot be reached by car. In fact some of them are a good mile hike across the river and up ...
Tangier, Morocco donstump1... Rif mountains, so no one would believe us we weren't interested in buying a big haul. Don't remember there being much tourists there & after the 1st night we discovered the hotel didn't take Mastercard (the only one we had) so as we had feck all cash we had to go really cheapo place (for .89p a night), so cheap even the walls had gaps to the next room at the top. Anyway we had chosen our guide (telling him we skint, why the hell else would we be moving to cheap accomodation) as ...
