Party Central at Cabo

Traveling 682 nautical miles northwest from Acapulco, we arrive in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. Cabo lays on the southernmost tip of the 1000 mile long Baja California peninsula and is blessed with a coastline that's ideal for kayaking, snorkelling, whale-watching and romance.

We arrive in port at 7:00AM. This is a tender day, meaning no pier to walk out on. Last tender day was a little scary, but the ...

Zach left this morning so we plan on getting the boat re-stocked and trying to take off towards La Paz in the morning. There are several anchorages on the way that we hope to stop at for a day or two and just relax after the craziness of Cabo.

Finally to Mexico!

Hi All!

We finally made it to Cobo San Lucas! It took us 8 days and nearly 900 miles but we pulled into the marina bright and early Thursday morning. The trip down was amazing. The Sailing was amazing. We only had to motor for about 14 hours out of the whole trip! With three people (we picked up Kevin’s Buddy, Zack Tuck in San Diego. He flew down from Seattle to do the passage with us) we held 2 hour watches with 4 hours off ...

Simply GORGEOUS!

Phenominal weather at the most beautiful port in all of Mexico.

We rode in on a tender and then took a water taxi tour of the rocks. Cost us about $16 each (plus tip). Went wtih 3 other people - Anthony (from previous cruises) was getting a ride to the beach. There was one other Atlanits guest (we forgot to ansk his name) and a woman from one of the other cuiseships (Carinal Splendor and Celebrity Infinity were both in port as well ...

Into the bush

... and down a dirt track that became more and more sandy until the smallfry Nissan could go no further. I opened the car door, stepped out of the A/C, into the oppressive heat and harsh sunlight and trudged through the bone dry, deepening sand in my flip-flops. As I came up over the bluff, I began to hear a growing noise of the waves. The moment I saw the totally deserted beach I understood that the advice we had been given was valid. This was no ...

SERENITY NOW!

... I probably won't even be able to finish one, but I went ahead and ordered one anyway. When in Rome, right? We shared the lobster and shrimp meal, which was plenty for the both of us. The meal was definitely satisfying and easy on the wallet as well.

NIGHTLIFE
Our trip into town for good nightlife wasn't so successful. Once we were done eating at one of the restaurants in town, we walked towards the bars and ...

El Snorkel in Cabo Pulme

... a good contrast to the stark desert and wild camping spots weŽd experienced so far. we took betsy down several miles of rough dirt roads to cabo pulme and tracked down a local landowner who rented us a spot on the beach. good snorkelling - but we managed to lose our muffler on the return trip Simon remembers the rocks on the beach making that deep echoing sound as the waves smashed them against eachother.

... he turned around and went back to the campsite. We headed North out of Cabo Pulmo on the same random road and only stopped once, in La Ribera, to feed 'Nilla. At this point we ventured off the coastal highway and headed inland to the Transpeninsular Highway (Mex #1). We arrived in Santiago and were very pleased to find a charming town that is relatively untouched by tourism. The town square was immaculate, however no more than thirty square yards in size. As the Palapa Turns

... only have a few days left in our little "Palapa Place". By the way if any of you are wondering, a palapa is the little hut behind each RV parking spot (they have a big one over the bar restaurant area) but suffice to say after nearly a month here there are definitely alot of characters and soap opera-like group situations. Every day is live entertainment!!! We had a ...
