We were warming welcomed and the lady at the desk was very nice. I inquired about a balcony room and she checked to see if they had one available, and they did. They gave us directions to a wonderful restaurant called Duke's Steakhouse, where we had the best steak.
Room was huge, clean and I would stay here again in a heartbeat as you couldn't beat the price. Really nice place!

    Shasta in the clouds

... town, but I used to be a Court TV addict and I watched the entire trial of Jodie Arias, the woman who slaughtered her ex-boyfriend in his home. She was from Yreka and her parents still live there. So it was interesting for me to see just where she came from. It's an old town, and kind of run down. Nothing like Jodie.

As we drove on, I knew we should be seeing Shasta, but our view was still obscured. When ...

... Roger kitty. Most of us know it's not the greatest joy to scoop a litter box but we do it because we love our cats. Poor things had to deal with runny poop on the bed! We are really concerned about him and discussed turning around but there's nothing we can do more than the Germans already are. We are hoping it's just a parasite or something similar and not anything more serious.

    Into California

Finally we cross the state line and enter California. We stop off to visit Lake Tahoe. Its ever so nice. Pristine emerald and blue water surrounded by pine trees. What a beautiful place.
These mountain roads are something else, with scenery that is just breathtaking. We dont get into Redding till after 7pm, and find this really nice RV park off the highway and out of town. Doesnt take long to set up the tent, while Gerry is already set up with her camper van.

Not our usual Monday morning!...Sam trying to eject Lois from her bed and rush to the bus stop! Our morning started with a nice breakfast and then heading off towards the coast. Oregon is so beautiful, full of trees and different flowers. As we came closer to the coast, our first chance to park up and see the sea was a a place called gold beach. The temperature had dropped some but it ...

... from being spread to the caves/bats here…. It was entertaining to say the least. “Is this the cave with the fungus?” “When will we find the fungus?” “Why do bats get sick?”

We returned our flashlights at 5, and got on the road. I had planned for us to go back out the way we came in, but we decided to just go out the south entrance. Because of prior problems, the girls ...
