We were warming welcomed and the lady at the desk was very nice. I inquired about a balcony room and she checked to see if they had one available, and they did. They gave us directions to a wonderful restaurant called Duke's Steakhouse, where we had the best steak.
Room was huge, clean and I would stay here again in a heartbeat as you couldn't beat the price. Really nice place!

Thankfully when we adjusted the temperature, it was pretty near perfect after a very short time and it being a really silent unit (unlike the jet engine we had in San Francisco) we were able to leave it on all night.
Breakfast was coffee, oatmeal and fruit, English muffins and 'grape jelly'. Brit the Brave had some of the rather dry looking scrambled egg. But then "By the livin’ Gawd that made her "she's a better man than I am, Gunga Din", as you might ...
The plan for today was to see Mount Shasta in all of its beauty, on our way to Redding, CA. So, we set out at 8:40 AM and 64 degrees with overcast skies, hoping that the clouds would lift and give us that spectacular view. Unfortunately, the clouds came down instead. We are really concerned about him and discussed turning around but there's nothing we can do more than the Germans already are. We are hoping it's just a parasite or something similar and not anything more serious.
Finally we cross the state line and enter California. We stop off to visit Lake Tahoe. Its ever so nice. Pristine emerald and blue water surrounded by pine trees. What a beautiful place.
These mountain roads are something else, with scenery that is just breathtaking. We dont get into Redding till after 7pm, and find this really nice RV park off the highway and out of town. Doesnt take long to set up the tent, while Gerry is already set up with her camper van.
... from being spread to the caves/bats here…. It was entertaining to say the least. “Is this the cave with the fungus?” “When will we find the fungus?” “Why do bats get sick?”
We returned our flashlights at 5, and got on the road. I had planned for us to go back out the way we came in, but we decided to just go out the south entrance. Because of prior problems, the girls ...
