... I got hopelessly lost again. After several hours I finally ended up at the far end of the Grand Canal from my hotel. Instead of risking getting lost again trying to walk back to my hotel I opted to take a water bus along the Grand Canal. So I eventually met up with Greg at his hotel…Mary had stayed home to catch up on on things and to do some Italian…Jacinta also decided to stay at the hotel and do her own thing. So Greg and I walked down via Concordia to the Superstore Supermarket. The trip to the supermarket was interesting particularly when it started raining and we didn’t have umbrellas or rain jackets so we had to wait under one of the awnings on the way there.
... the shops here! It's a good thing I brought a small piece of luggage on this trip, otherwise, I'd be buying more. But, since I know I can't pack it in my luggage, no shopping for me . . .We walked to San Marco Piazza and what a sight! It's as grand and enormous as I had remembered it back in 1991 when I was last here. I think Xander was overwhelmed by the size of the piazza and the crowds!
