Woke at 7am to our church bells but had a quiet start as we did not have to meet till 10am. Blue skies and warm. We had breakfast then I went shopping with Carol and the other girls in a tiny deli that sold all local meats, cheeses, oils, green tomato paste etc. the others all tried out their Italian while I asked Carol to order our sandwich. The tour then took us through the galleries and corridors of the museum, amazing tapestries, artwork and paintings were able to be seen. Raphael's rooms were next and our tour guide explained the importance of the paintings and artwork. Then we ...

A travel blog entry by heatherandjohn on May 29, 2015

... see for miles. I forgot my camera but John had his. Unfortunately he hasn’t brought the cable needed to download the photos on to my laptop so I can’t post any pictures. The weather forecast for today is thunder storms and after lunch, we could see the storm clouds starting to gather over the mountain tops. Once we had descended from the ridge, our walk back to Pescasseroli was through the Italian version of the Yorkshire dales except the dry ...
