... about 10€ on pic 'n' mix...have finally found someone else whose sweet tooth can match up to mine! Then for dinner we had the best meal that I've had since we got here...sausages, new potatoes, and Heinz baked beans. I realise that's sounds awful, as I'm supposed to be integrating into the French way of life, but during dinner I did at least have a bit of a chat with Amy's French landlord (he doesn't like Sarkozy much). Then today I tagged along with Lizzie and ...

Avignon is extremely beautiful and we have a lovely view at night of all the castle etc all lit up as we are camped on a sort of island in the Rhone. We arrived yesterday and explored the town and went to the Popes palace which is the best preserved castle of its age in France. We then ...

Aix marks the spot

... yesterday, Saturday, and it is cooler but still nice. The trip here was spectacular with many olive groves and big mountains. Today we went on a tour to Les Beax - another medieval town with a castle - poor Graham and on his birthday too. Then we went winetasting and to the premier olive oil producers in France. The Mistrql was blowing on the tour and it was very cold but warmer back here in the camp. Tomorrow we explore Aix on foot then we go to Avignon.

LOST & FOUND IN MARSEILLES- BLUE BALLS & ALL

... ask where they will sleep and what they will eat?" Yep, I reckon that’s about all they do. Jesus was lucky; he never had to score WiFi. But he could multiply fishes; now THAT’S cool.

Sometimes I tell my wife when I feel she’s not being appreciative that all she has to do is close her eyes, click her heels three times, then re-open her eyes and everything she needs is right within her grasp ...

... driver behind us). Ok, so he was waving and flashing behind us and we had no idea what he was going on about so we figured he was either mad or had never seen a car with a right side driver, but then later realized when he drove by that he was only pointing out that the bulb had blown.

Finding the resto was a bit of a challenge, the 3 others (4 including the one we found out was closed on the website before ...

... and creamy and very filling. I felt bad leaving some of it to go back to the kitchen, but a girl has to leave room for dessert! Also, the half bottle of Cotes du Rhone we were sharing was going down pretty smoothly.

Lucy's dessert was definitely the more visually compelling. She had three scoops of house-made ice cream: gingerbread, Calisson and banana flambee, which were accented with a little kumquat and a ...

The most bizarre and disturbing one was in the Chapel of the Dead where, formerly, dead monks would be laid out before they could be buried. At ...

Cher and Gary's trip to France

Believe me you don't want the story but here are a few photos and videos of what was a wonderful adventure for the most part.

The bull running was a random and free event - just next to lovely beach. Camargue horses are breathtakingly beautiful in the wild.

Unfortunately no photos of characterful and cultural city of Arles because only took the camera out one day - the day we went to The Camargue obviously.

Salon-de-Provence

... I needed one, more ride that was going directly to Montpelier. Shortly after being dropped off I got another ride to Salon-de-Provence, only a short distqnce away, but good enough. I found a good spot but it being too late at night and the road leading to various destinations I wasnt able to get a lift in my direction, I did get a lift to the freeway entry but after spending an hour there in without luck I determined to call it a ...

... elderly, linked hands in many circles, began to sing "Pont de Avignon" and danced in circles. They blocked the exit. I threw my hands in the air, gave up and tried to take a pic- and my batteries fell out of my camera. So it goes. When they were done, I ran through the entire walled city of Avignon (in sandals) out into the new area, to the bus station- to see my bus pulling away. Miracle of miracles, it stopped! Apparantly Pam and Everil were watching for me and ...
