Today I climbed the very impressive Sacro Monte di Ossuccio, the sacred walkway above Ossucio about 10 kms from Menaggio. It climbs progressively past 14 chapels constructed between 1635 and 1710 with each containing lifelike statues of events in the life of Jesus. Today I moved hotels from the (not so) Grand Britannia Excelsior Hotel to the (truly) Grand Victoria Hotel. And what a difference. A little more expensive, but so much better.
But I did have an interesting experience with my booking for the Grand Britannia through Wotif which worked out well in the end, but could have been quite different …
... unreal, sun is fierce and not a breath of wind. Afternoons on the balcony are the order of the day, listening to all the birds shouting at each other and arguing over bread dropped on the floor at the cafe by the lake.
