Got up and packed and loaded everything into the car as the hotel wouldn't store out ****. Got to the car park bang in 10am. Parked up, followed some signs, and in a few minutes we were in Mexico. Some dudes with very big rifles. Walked over to downtown, avoiding the beggars and possible pick pockets, and wandered around for about an hour, had breakfast, about $6 each, and then decided to stop into a couple more shops ...

After this we headed to the cowboy bar where Ari was owned by the mechanical bull, as was the woman in the thong who later made Thong Song our unofficial contiki ...

We went to Tijuana for the day, what a bloody disaster.
We hired a car, a little Kia Soul and drove down to the border, it took about 2 hours to get there.
On the way we stopped at a rest stop where the kids were able to feed some squirrels, that was excellent.
We arrived at the border around 11am, walked accross the border and entered Mexico without any hassles.
However the state of Tijuana is very different to what i remember 20 years ago, it it like a ghost town, ...

... believe so because it didnt seem that big. When we asked someone, they told us they had another safari park a few miles away and it was counted as part of the zoo. So that explained why it wasnt as big as we anticipated, but I still had a ball and loved seeing all the animals. We even went on the skyrail twice so we could see it from up top. After a few hours though I had to leave and make my way to seaworld. The first taxi I asked said it would be $48 to get there and the second ...
