      When it was time to cross the Strait to Messina the train carriages are very precisely loaded into a ferry. Once on board we could hop off the train and walk around the ferry to watch the crossing, and a chance to get a coffee.       ... like Tony (as in Amalfi coast drive Tony) was driving us today Larry was so cool and relaxed. Through no fault of his we were stuck in a 40 minute line up waiting for the tunnel out of Sorrento. accidents in close quarters take time to clear. We did not know the equivalent of the 730 AM radio report for the Vancouver traffic . And anyhow there is really one main route out if you don't dip up and down along the coast.
