Today our first stop was in Messina, Italy. This is a port that we visited last time we went on our Mediterranean cruise. We decided to do a little exploring on our own this time. We rented a little car ( as you do when you are in Italy). The streets are very narrow and roads aren't that great so it definitely was an experience! ... is considered one of the 10 best in Italy and it was great.
There was actually sand on the beach and an amazing dramatic backdrop with the cliffs and houses rising up behind us.
We had a great time swimming and sunbaking here.
We found a small shopping centre nearby and yes maybe I spent too long in there for the rest of the family,
but we hadn't shopped for ages and I did need ...
... into the pool and we played that shark game again.
We drove to a shopping centre that Mum LOVED!
Mum wanted to go into every shop she could in the shopping centre.
After 2 hours of looking at shops and clothes we went to get something to eat and Mum and Zara went into a massive shop.
Riley, Dad and me went to a takeaway shop and I got a burger.

And we where looking for a restaurant and mum ran into a shop and bought a dress and other people took the bag accidentally that we where buying but they came back and gave it back.
We bought 2 pizzas and we took them to a good view point and ate them. These where probably my favorite pizzas yet.
Then we went down to the beach and this beach was one of the top 10 most beautiful beaches in Italy.

Dubrovnik was right up there with Malta in terms of amazing sights and history. You could spend days here reading and researching its history.
