... through truly breathtaking and spectacular views...mountainous terrain with small, ancient Roman built villages sitting precariously on the top of many a small precipice. The traffic had decreased....and slowed...and the freeway was ours to enjoy. Within an hour or so, we approached our turn off that would take us to Maratea. Checking our directions carefully, we made the first turn flawlessly. Suddenly there was another fork in the road and we made a decision....the next thing ...

Good morning from the always lovely decks of the Milena. This will be our second, and last night in Acciaroli. Tonight I am going to make dinner for Jacques and Marina. Jacques requested pork chops, and Marina said there is a good butcher in Acciaroli. Good, I thought, because I need four chops, around two inches thick each. Around 10:00a.m., Marina and I headed out to do the food shopping for dinner, before it got too hot. What fun we had, even though ...

Boy, last night it was so cold, I felt as if it might snow! Each of us had our warmest woollies on, and sweatshirts most of the night. According to Jacques it is always cold in Palinuri.... Maybe the cool winds comes down from the mountains, and meet the sea air, and the result is shivering cold at night. It was so cold, I could not sleep topside. I was even truly cold sleeping in my cabin. Our day began at 7:00a.m., as we took up the anchor, and made our 3-hour run ...

... on to Milena with any part of my body. I will tell you what, my fingers and toes were very grateful for this temporary rest. By 7:30a.m, I was up and dressed sub-consciencely waving good bye to the isle of Stromboli, thinking we must have past it. But no... this semi-dormant, always with orange-glowing top, (for over 10 years now, according to Jacques) was blowing puffs of white smoke to us, as if waving good-bye, as we silently ...

... finding that as we head further south people do not speak much English. The owner was very nice and gave all of us a large dinner plate. Don't know if I will be able to carry home. Experienced difficulty getting through to our destination as the road had been closed due to landslides. Finally worked our way back to the major road and arrived about 7 pm. Wonderful seaside/fishing village. The weather much better today so did a bit of exploring around the town and surrounding areas on ...
