      ... the effort people made to speak English though. I went out by myself a few times, which was an interesting experience to say the least. Everyone is happy and smiley and fit. They share and are very hospitable. One thing I found strange was the way everyone took off their shoes to enter a friends house, as well as the lack of dogs. It was my third week here before I petted any.

      Will I come back?
      Definitely. I have good reason to.

      Wooden churches everywhere

      We didn't show you too much of the wooden churches we saw in Slovakia. They were beautiful though, quite different from the ones in Romania, therefore different in another way.
      And guess what: at the other side of the border, here inn Poland, perhaps 100 kilometers away, they have them too! And also here, they cherish them, restore them, get them UNESCO protected, create tourist routes past them. And also here, we visit ...

      ... with a prickly, stinging weed. We saw one stone sticking up out of the weeds - presumably the memorial - but the weeds are so dense that we couldn't get very close.

      Next stop... L'viv! We got to the border, handed over our passports and finally got the go ahead to cross. We got to the bottom gate and the guard there wouldn't let us leave! We didn't have a green stamp on the "Karta" - the slip of paper we were given for the car. We had ...

      We're In Poland Where The Roads Are Smooth

      ... There is a marked difference in the quality of the roads between Poland and everywhere that we have ridden since we left Turkey. It makes for a much more comfortable ride and hopefully fewer problems with the bikes.
      We are back under canvas tonight in a very nice campsite. All in all a good Monday!
