So it's been such a crazy couple of days...I've barely had time to write anything. Until now, at the end of the conference haha. Anyways, so here's what's happened so far
Another long day of talks from what I remember. Again lots of interesting stuff and learning heaps about OPVs but still no real sign of what I've been doing …
So after all the crazy stopovers, I made it!!
So very tired and started to panic when I realised I had no idea where the shuttlebus was gonna pick us up...=S. Anyways, eventually I bumped into some fellow F-pi symposium people looking just as lost as I was and decided that we'll brave out the unknown together. haha Anyways …
... a tomato salad with omelettes, and spent the rest of the day arranging the van and getting to know the area.
The next day we all gathered at the house and ate breakfast together at half past 8, a simple affair with toast and cereal. Vashti was then shown the morning routine with the animals and I was shown to the workshop where I could find tools. It was a little untidy but navigable. ... filled to the top with sand that was now weighted down with the rain, I stopped at one of the shops near the exit to empty them and take some time to look around. I amazingly found a seahorse made out of sand from the dune, which made my day!
To finish my day I got on the bus to the station and then a train back to Bordeaux. Going from the rain to the air conditioning on the train gave me such chills that I then headed straight to my hotel to stay and warm up for the night.
... boring as it went through uninhabited forests which looked like they had been de-and-re- forested many times and lacked any true feel of nature. The weather improved as the afternoon continued and I rode for about 2 hours away from the VTR on some moderately trafficked highways westward to the EV1. Clean and tidy with a very friendly (though sometimes unattended) front desk. Location is amazing though, and right opposite the beach.
