Today we finally made it to Montepulciano and we are so pleased that we did. It is certainly the biggest of the hill towns that we have been to and is relatively unspoilt. It is only 12 km from where we are staying so is quite close. ... Largo for lunch but it was not so peaceful today and there was no parking so we went down lakeside for lunch to where we went on Saturday. After lunch we walked along the edge of the lake and saw some fishermen along the side of the lake and three sailing boats out on the lake but surprisingly no real activity on the lake. Such a beautiful and calm lake at home on a public holiday would have been a hive of activity with sailing, rowing and motor boats and probably water skiers. ...
