... museum, the horse museum, and took a tour of the stables. However, it was simply watching the horses train in the outdoor arenas that Sahra liked best. We spent a few hours over a few days watching the horses go through their training routines.

Jerez was a great introduction to Spain for us. We even considered extending our stay to catch a local festival but we're glad that we didn't shorten our stay at our next stop, Sevilla.

Over this weekend, a few of us took a last minute day trip to Jerez, Spain, home of the Tio Pepe winery. Although we didn't get to spend much time touring the city, the wine tour was fabulous. The "Americans" were the only ones who ordered all four glasses of wine and were the last ones to leave. Let's just say we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves ...

Tip of the day: Spaniards prounounce euros as "a-uros" so I need to be careful not to confuse "dos euros" (2 euros) with "doce euros" (12 euros). This is per Tom (our new friend from the embassy) who also suggested making sure I learn the numbers 1-100 so I can better understand how much I'm being charged. His wife leaned over and quietly suggested that I can also just ask to look at the bill!!
