... I arrived on Christmas Day 2012 and spent the time with his family.

My first crash course in Spanish was with Nic’s parents. They just spoke Spanish to me. They have an understanding of English but they don’t speak it. So I had to try and understand what they were saying (with the help of a lot of translation from Nic). But this is exactly the reason I came to South America to learn Spanish through emersion. It made me realise how ...

... The team that I saw is called River Plate, and they are one of the best in Argentina. They have one very heated cross-town rival (Boca Juniors), so this is like Yankees/Mets or Giants/Jets times 1000. Their nickname is "The Millionaires", so you can see why I was attracted to pick them. I even bought a (knockoff) jersey to be appropriately attired for the game. The tour company warned us in advance that River ...

... dodgy looking guy or girl is offering gambio, money exchange. I find Buenos Aires refreshingly familiar to Europe. Femi keeps talking about it not being like Brazil, which means he doesn't like it quite as much as Brazil.

Guys, btw. this blog writing is seriously time consuming business. Who would have thought that it will take so much time to write something meaningful and also translate it. Femi has kind of given up on it now, so it seems that I am in charge from now. I ...
