Today is a rushed day. I am on the clock following the JR train and bus from point to point. I woke up around 515 am, kind of shocked to see the sun is already out, being so north in latitude . At check out, the Ryokan owner told me I have not yet paid, which I thought I did. When he hand me the bill, I gave him my American Express card which the website said they take, just find out they don't. Ok I don't have that much cash 30000 yen to be exact, luckily the owner told ...

Our apartment was in a great location, pretty much ski in ski out, Futagoyama 2 ...

... desk outside talking to someone (maybe the bus driver). Then we saw an orange bus. He was announcing something in Japanese. My friend showed our laminated stub for transfer to airport and he told her to wait, and so we waited there in the lobby with other passengers, who are obviously not bound for the airport. The same guy was also in the lobby announcing something in Japanese, maybe paging some missing passengers to go to ...

    Travel day to Yamanouchi

After an exciting win and celebration last night it was an early morning for my flight to Tokyo. Everything went smoothly and was off the plane and on the train into Tokyo. From there I took a train towards the mountains. I transferred in Nagano on to a smaller local train to a place called Yamanouchi. The train ride was beautiful heading towards the mountains and the fall colors. Hard to take a picture on the bullet train, was getting dizzy at points and I ...
