So the train was a beautiful journey through the countryside passing many rivers, mountains and beautiful snow covered fields. We had no major issues besides having to leave our beloved Niseko, but we did have one stop in a tiny little seaside town called Oshamambe. We didn’t think much of it at first, as the train station was about the size of a small bus stop, with only one room and a shop. But we had a couple hours to kill so we managed to store our bags for ...

... Kylie's host mom works at, however she wasn't working tonight. We walked around the store, Kylie got some things and then we went back to our room. Kylie went to Sophie's room and I went to Skip's room with Kara and we played Uno. I hadn't played Uno for a long time, so I would forget to say Uno and Skip would tell me to take two cards. While I'm in the sit down spa I look outside and see snow falling and this big roof outside. Then I notice lot of steam. I wonder if it's an outside onsen. I look and see a snowy path to it. No robes or slippers in sight. So I walk bare feet on the snow and sure enough it's an outside onsen. Very hot so I stand up in the freezing air to ...

... bus ride took 2 hours. When we arrived at the Lake Shokotsu, we were greeted by three employees who carried our bags to the Spa resort we would be staying at Mizu no uta. When we entered the building they had us take off our shoes and walk around in socks. There are no shoes in this establishment. Once inside, they sit us down in front of a harp player, and a girl came and brought us a hot oshibori (hot wet towel) and a cup of tea. ...
