... and therefore no fresh air was a bit much. We arrived at Isabela and got a taxi to our hostel to check in. The check-in process and room allocation was a bit of a interesting experience, but let's leave it there! We got picked up at 11am for our trip to Tunneles, which involved a boat ride (of course, what else?), some walking and some snorkeling. On the way to Tunneles (on the boat) we saw some manta-rays in the water - they are incredible! At first I thought it was ...
... the week on. Apparently, we were going on some tour, although nobody really seemed to know what was going on at this stage. One bus took us to board a small boat over to Santa Cruz. We asked if we could borrow the snorkelling gear for the rest of the day and they let us which was great. We lay on the beach for a while and watched penguins and seals swim by. The sun was super intense so we decided to walk down to a nearby snorkelling spot. This was accessible by a boardwalk through thick mangrove trees. The boardwalk was completely taken hostage by seals and iguanas through so we had to ...
... centre. There the they are weighed and measured every three months. After the tortoises we walked through a mangrove swamp area. Here we saw a few different types of birds and plants. As we came to the the trail and back onto a main road, we saw a sign that said to slow down because iguanas could be crossing. It may seem like kind of a funny sign but we did see an iguana crossing at that time. We then headed back into the main area of town which is basically ...
