Monday 15th Dec - early rise this morning to catch the train to Messina. We stocked up with food and water the night before as the train leaves at 7.30 am. With just enough time for a coffee and croissant for breakfast at the station we hopped on the train for an 8 hour journey. The train was not that busy so we had a cabin to ourselves. Liam kept busy with electronic games and we had some nice reading time. So glad we stocked up on food as there ...

The question is...were the owners on the edge of offering Larry a job making pizza, or were they glad when they delivered him and his pizza to our table? We were delighted to have him return, prize photos on the camera flash card.

Onto Sicily tomorrow...will let you know how the rooster performs at 4:00 tomorrow morning.

... This is more mountainous than I expected, but silly me, of course Mount Etna is here, but not to be seen due to clouds covering it. Obviously the photo is not one that we took. We were only in the town for a couple of hours but the highlight was the Greek amphitheatre. It is at the top of the town and the view from the top of the amphitheatre was spectacular. The main street was full of shops, and packed with people due to the cruise ship being in. I would like more time ...
