Day ? lost count. One more Greek island - Santorini. Formed through volcanic activity in 3200 BC, the towns are perched (precariously) along the cliff edge. Disembarkation is by tender boat, our only for this trip.

... I was impressed by the hi-tech production of this extravaganza. As the title suggests each song depicted a different country from Zorba’s dance to New York through to Japanese geishas. The scenery was very cleverly computer graphic images projected on to the background and stage and a number of trap doors carried props and artistes to and from the stage. Arrived in Messina, Sicily on August 15 - Elizabeth's birthday. August 15 is the day all Italy celebrates the assumption of the Virgin Mary. It is the biggest religious feast day on the calendar. Consequently, everything in Messina was closed. We though it might be a quiet day. Boy were we wrong. We went on a trip to a vineyard on the slopes of Mount Etna.
