Lovely Layover
... up about 460 feet up into the air. It is considered one of the largest fountains in the world and is Geneva's most famous landmark.
My absolute favorite thing I saw in Geneva was the chocolate grocery store. Yes, a grocery store filled with only chocolate. Can you say heaven on earth?
Although I wished I would have been able to stay longer, at the end of the day we had to venture back to the airport to hop on a plane to Paris.

Geneva Switzerland
... A summary if you will... The Château de Chillon (Chillon Castle) is located on the shore of Lake Geneva in the commune of Veytaux, at the eastern end of the lake, 3 km from Montreux, Switzerland. The castle consists of 100 independent buildings that were gradually connected to become the building as it stands now. The oldest parts of the castle have not been definitively dated, but the first written record of the castle is in 1160 or 1005.From the mid ...

Geneva Weekend trip
... visit. Actually it could be worth staying in Lausanne where it might be cheaper and doing day trips to Geneva, Nyon, and Montreux. It would, however be less convenient to go to Mont Blanc. I think we did quite well actually – the total cost of the trip was £400 inclusive of everything [60 for flights, 60 for accommodation, 120 for tour, 60 for boat and train, and 100 on everything else including eating, shopping and transfers to/from both ...

Historical Traveler Reviews Grand Hotel Kempinski Geneva
Great Hotel
We have just returned from a conference- weekend at the Grand Hotel Kempinski Geneva. The hotel is magnificent and we have never experienced such incredible service before. The food at the bar as well at the main restaurant with an unforgettable view over the lake of Geneva - you will never find that anywhere else in Geneva. At the nights - the bar is the Place to be and meet!
The Room had a very good size, bathroom nearly new, the beds are quiet big and the services at the reception and housekeeping are outstanding.
We will hopefully come back with our company to hold another meeting cause the ratio of services and prices are very good and our secretary had also good experience with the banqueting-staff.
Great Views from the Restaurant
I stayed in the Kempinski Hotel Geneva during a conference. The hotel is perfectly located and I got one of the recently renovated rooms. The restaurant has great views over the lake. The bar seems to be very popular as it was full to the rim.
Good Hotel
I recently stayed a week at the new Kempinski in Geneva. The hotel is mostly renovated, though not completely different from when it was the Noga Hilton a little more than a year ago. Gone mostly are the day glo plastic walls and other dated items in favor of earth tones etc. Most notably of all the renovations are the second floor restaurants and terraces, which form some of the finest vistas to have a meal or drink in all of Geneva. The pool and spa are only ok , but the rooms are very nice esp the plasma tvs and Hansgrohe fixtures in the bathrooms. The service in the hotel is also top notch -- esp the concierge who will book tours, loan adaptor plugs, or provide an umbrella all for no additional charge. The hotel is located right on Lake Leman (Lake Geneva) and there is a swimming and boat rental location directly across the street. Based on location, service, and cleanliness and quality of finishes, I would rate this hotel well above average as a business hotel, though not on par with a Ritz or Four Seasons. Any discount off the $500 or so summer rack rate and you've found a good deal!
Me encantó
Loved it!
My fiance and me stayed at the hotel in July for the week-end and we loved it! We stayed in one of the rooms with view overlooking the lake which was modern and elegant at the same time. As we had great weather, we took the breakfast on the terrace of the restaurant which has this same perfect view and the buffet had a large choice of fresh breads and swiss specialities.
The renovations are nealy finished. Some of the outlets were still closed and some details will need to get done but I'm definetely going to stay there again when returning to Geneva!
The Hilton is now a Kempinski, but only the name has changed...
I have stayed in this hotel several times over the last 4 years. Originally called the Noga Hilton, then Palace Hilton or something like that and now finally changed owner to become a Kempinski.
Having returned the first time after the 'extensive renovation' I expected to finally find a hotel that is in line with a 5-Star standard. First impression was good, the lobby, the restaurants, hallway etc. are all new and shiny and luxurious.
BUT: The rooms (most of them?) are still the same. I understand that some floors have been 'updated' but the one I stayed on (4th floor - the 'brown' one) is still as it used to be. Horrible and worn off seventies style with color schemes developed by the blind, not to mention the smelling carpet....
The only thing that has changed in the room is a big flat screen TV which is a nice to have but I would have preferred a bathroom with light that doesn't upset my stomach in the morning...
In a nutshell: NEVER AGAIN
A shame because the location is still great and the potential is there...
Loved it. Very nicely renovated
My wife and I spent a weekend at the Kempinski in March and it was just fantastic. We got a room with views to the lake, and it was just great to see the jet d'eau from our bed. We had breakfast in the room both mornings looking at the lake.
As the hotel was still undergoing renovation not all services were availble, but we didn't miss anything but the pool.
The room was spotless clean and nicely decorated, the bathroom was great, with really nice toiletries, and as I already mentioned, the view was fantastic.
Having stayed here several times already as a Hilton, I must say the hotel has extremely improved its image, and service continues to be of the highest standards.
I will continue to stay at the Kempinski on my trips to Geneva, and I would defenetely recommend it to everyone.
