I am now 50 and a day and I know why I wanted to be in Italy. Let me tell you why!
The smell of the star Jasmine is heady and in full bloom, the pelargoniums are bright and blossoming wherever you go, the vegetation is so green and lush, the roses are so full it is wild! I love it so much !

... amazing with beautiful ceilings and even paintings on some of the columns. Lucca is also known for it's leather goods. Robert decided to climb to the top of the bell tower with the trees on top, while Kerrie and I decided to "powershop" in the last half hour before we had to go back to the bus. ... 2 and 4pm which makes walking around at the time a bit dull. In future I am going to try and plan my day about being in a museum or at lunch during that time so I'm not stuck fir things to do. Anyway I pottered about the city walls, took loads of photos, found a terrible museum of contemporary art redeemed only by a brilliant photography exhibition and generally enjoyed myself.

Portofino. a beautiful drive in thriough St Marguerita. very narrow road, a few close calls. huge boats in the marina. Satori yacht was enormous. Drove to Monterosso al mare. Narrow road down to the coast. Lots of tunnels and incredible scenery. Little towns perched on hillsides. We parked the car in a parking station And caught the Train to Romiggiori.
