It is amazing how a good night's sleep clears the brain - We spent the day getting organized. First and foremost was getting some food into the house which became challenging as very few stores are open on Sundays. We had to travel down to Lucca to find a grocery store. Shopping in a foreign country where one does not know the language is interesting. It took us 20 minutes to identify and purchase laundry soap. sleep-in day today. went for a short walk to the Orto Botanico (park with native and non-native trees and plants), then sat in the sun at the amfiteatro, drank wine and beer, ate bruschetta, and watched the town go by. dropped in at a little ceramic shop where the sweet Italian lady (Gilda) was handpainting bowls, plates, etc. I fell in love and bought an oil decanter.
